LOCATION: Miskin Law Community Complex, 271 Lansdowne St. W., Peterborough
Our guest speaker on Monday, October 26 will be Murray Miskin, who will join us at the Miskin Law Community Complex (please note the special location) to speak on “The Interface of Marketing & Philanthropy.”
Murray Miskin is an Ontario lawyer and founder of Miskin Law Professional Corporation. A longtime resident of Peterborough County, Murray has been practising law since being called to the Ontario Bar in 1981. He has been actively involved in professional and community service, including two years on the national Canadian Bar Association Board of Directors and Finance Committee, the Peterborough United Way Finance Committee, and three years on the Trent University Board of Governors.
A graduate of Trent University and Osgoode Hall Law School, Murray began his career in Toronto, focusing primarily on accident compensation claims before establishing his own practice in Whitby with a branch office in Peterborough. Over the course of 45 years, he has worked in almost every area of legal practice. Murray has also been involved in alternative dispute resolution for many years, beginning with teaching arbitration at the University of Toronto in 1985. He has worked as an arbitrator since 1987 and a mediator since 1997.
Miskin Law moved its main office to Peterborough in 2012. Today, the firm has five lawyers, and Murray divides his time between managing the firm, consulting on complex cases, and helping clients with estate planning.
